MYANMAR

Myanmar is a wonderful country that I had the chance to visit in 2020 just before the Military takeover and the Covid close-down. I was enchanted by the beautiful landscapes and the generous people. I participated in a photography workshop organized by www.bettermoments.com this time with Steve McCurry as leading photographer.

The One-Leg Rower Fishermen on Inle Lake.

One early morning, we had the great privilege to work with the Fishermen on Inle Lake. It was an unforgettable experience. These fishermen are known for their special way of roving their boats using one leg while they’re working their nets.

Charcoal ladies in Mandalay.

Despite their charcoal-filled clothes and bodies, they are still both graceful and beautiful.

Monks and monk novices.

The famous Schwe Yan Pyay Monastery in Inle Lake gave us plenty of opportunities to photograph the young monk novices living in the Monastery. The colors and decor are amazing.

Market life.

Photographing people at the local markets is always a great way to see all kinds of different village people coming to sell or buy merchandise. It’s a beautiful mix of the diversity in a community. And often the only place they get to meet other people.

The Fishermen at the U Bein Bridge

Again an early morning visit to photograph these fishermen working with their big nets.
